For the symposium we propose three themes to facilitate the formation of smaller participant groups. Breakout sessions will bring these different groups together and we will also offer possibilities to change groups during the symposium
1. Visualizations & Designs
Visualizations of data and information at different scales is of cross-disciplinary interest to a number of fields. Advances in computational technologies have led to significant progress and identification of challenges for visualization and design. The engagement with designs also cuts across a number of fields and attracts public interest in how we visualize spatio-temporal concepts with various media?
2. Organizational Models
The increasing availability of spatio-temporal datasets, leads to numerous opportunities and challenges for the management and maintenance of geospatial data and information. Data is regularly used for multiple purposes. How different fields organize and archive geospatial information and commonalities and differences in challenges they face involves issues that University researchers can contribute to.
3. Space Time Analytics
Different data models, multiple representations, cartographic-based data structures are among factors that influence the application of appropriate methods of analysis, and models of physical and human processes. How do we use explain spatio-temporal phenomena? What challenges do we face? What knowledge gaps constrict the transformations of data into geographic information and scientific knowledge?
